We always say that meettheoutsiders.com is not just about other people meeting us, it's also about us meeting fellow Outsiders. We met Jovan, a Chicago-based creative, at our launch party and were so refreshed when we heard her latest music, The Conscious EP. She raps about social media and self-validation, inner city youth, and the progression of Black Americans (which is our favorite part!). The visual EP is a reintroduction of Jovan as a hip hop artist, filmmaker, and photographer. Her music has an interesting and nostalgic vibe that's different than anything we've heard from female rappers in a while. Keep it coming, Jovan!
